Move your bed, change your life!

by. Veronica Pereyra Cerenini - Architect

I remember that headline from a magazine article I found 25 years ago, when I started a great adventure in the study, research and practice of Feng Shui...

Being an architect, allows me to understand the space we inhabit from the physical and the tangible: through designs, forms, materials, colors, textures, beauty and art. But it was the awakening of an integral vision of what well-being is, that motivated me to "look with the eyes of the soul", discovering that the space contained within walls, doors and windows are the essence of what makes what we warmly call home, important and habitable.

I achieved that awakening with perseverance, through the daily practice of meditation and Neural Stimulation treatments, which helped me enhance my creativity, to be more attentive to every detail. Discovering then, that our house is our extended body, that keeps the most intimate feelings, desires, frustrations, joys, passions and sadness. And that the simplest changes in the structure of the house generate a movement in the emotions of those who inhabit it.

I also understood that we can move forward by looking at our space to see how our inner world is reflected in the environment. I call this "creating and recreating our own universe," putting the physical order as a reflection of the internal order and vice versa.

**When I am asked what Feng Shui is, I choose the concept of the pursuit of harmony and good living in relation to nature. **

For years I have been helping people rediscover themselves and face the hidden feelings in their homes, thus improving the quality of life in healthy homes.

I invite you to do this small but useful 4-step exercise that will help you to see things differently:

First: Stand in front of the entrance door of your house, apartment, bedroom...whatever space is yours (you don't necessarily have to be the owner).

Second: take 3 deep breaths, inhaling and exhaling, becoming aware as if you were entering for the first time.

Third: insert the key, open the door. Look, observe! The first thing you see: the painting, the bed, the wardrobe or whatever object you see first, is directly related to you, that's how you are! It's your reflection. Reflect on the qualities of the object, and ask yourself: do I like what I see? Would I like to change something? Does it bother me?

Finally, the fourth step: If you have decided that it is time to make a change, add something that you love, that motivates you and raises your self-esteem. A picture or object that reflects how you want to see yourself to move forward. Dare to look with the eyes of your soul.

Encourage yourself, make a change, move and say goodbye to routine.
