My name is Alessandro, I have been working in the Italian state police for thirty years and today, even having been there so long, I am experiencing something new and unexpected. When I say goodbye to my family and go out, when everyone else is at home because of an emergency that now affects the whole world, it seems to me like I am swimming against the tide, but I have to do it and, in addition to the "common" risks, attention is also high to the danger that could be hidden behind any encounter I might have during duty hours.

In addition to different habits of life, we have to handle a new emotional state, which alternates between a sense of duty and the preservation of health. The flow of information that follows is not comforting: increasing numbers, infected patients, duplication of deaths, lack of facilities and means, viruses, pandemics, ordinances, etc. Situations and words that overwhelm the mind of each and everyone of us and can take root, instilling excessive fear and the consequent imbalance. Therefore, it becomes crucial, in addition to normal prevention, to also have tools to support emotional balance: this aspect is fundamental and must be stressed as much as the cold numbers thrown up by the media.

There are many ways to release tension and fear, personally, I have found a very powerful tool in the constant practice of meditation "5 minutes, I meditate" and of the self-treatment technique called "Neural Stimulation", because it allowed me to face even the most difficult situations with clarity and always with a constructive vision. As its Founder, La Jardinera, says: "When you are at peace, the world is at peace" and I can confirm that this is what happens.

The association that promotes the use of these techniques is called Manos Sin Fronteras (Hands Without Borders) and promotes the integral well-being of the person through a network of volunteers.

This association also intervened in the earthquakes in central Italy and in other emergencies precisely to provide support to both the population and the operators. Now with COVID-19 emergency, the organisation is contributing to the prevention and support campaign, as reported by the national newspaper "Il Corriere della Sera".

The technique works by awakening our potential, to fully express our internal, emotional and energetic capabilities. Because of this, in some countries it has already been included in the training programs of police and military forces, to maintain psychophysical balance. With meditation we cleanse ourselves of negative thoughts and fear, which are the most powerful and insidious viruses because they attack the emotions, and instead we give strength to positive and creative thoughts, maintaining an objective view of reality. With neural stimulation we maintain an efficient nervous system, relieving the tensions accumulated in life and supporting the natural physiological processes that underlie our well-being.

In this emergency of COVID-19, I want to motivate people and especially the operators of all categories, who have to leave their homes every day, to start using the meditation tool "5 minutes, I meditate.
