What does it mean to live life the way you really want to? What does it mean to take charge of your own choices? Is it possible to break free from family patterns without feeling guilty?

My journey in life has become more intense since I took the third level of the Enseñanza, which came a few months after meeting someone very special to me. I became more present in the world around me and began to wonder what my wishes really were. Until that moment, more or less, I had always lived in a condition of adaptation to the wishes of those around me and their expectations of me. These expectations had become everything I wanted. I was even afraid of proposing an idea that would be too far out of my family's lifestyle, for fear of rejection. Until I decided to change my way of life and had to face resistance from those who found all this ridiculous, useless and even scandalous. Yes, because family, friends are voices too important to ignore and they continually confirm the patterns we rigidly adopt because they give us security. Without them we would probably feel like the ground is missing under our feet.

We are often told to be ourselves, that we will be accepted regardless, regardless of what we choose to do or choose to think. This is only partially true. The other half of the question is delicate;

In reasoning about divergent lifestyles or ideas, we hardly find ourselves accepting things other than what we think we tolerate. There is no thought to the usefulness of getting up an hour earlier in the morning to meditate, nor even to apply the Neural Stimulation treatments, because they are only mental conditioning, after all. These were some of the trials that I faced for having made a decision that was considered too far removed from what everyday life is: home, family, work. What about our well-being?

What about the desire to freely reflect on one's spirituality? They don't talk about religion, they talk about spirituality. There is talk of a link with the origins of ourselves and the cosmos, of which we are part. Human beings are so self-centered that we often lose track of what we are and where we are: as Edgar Morin said, they are a fundamental element of the universe and they are in the universe.

This awareness can be terrifying because it puts us in front of an immense vastness, but once we understand this, we understand that meditation can really help us feel good about ourselves and others. It can really help us strengthen our immune system. We really understand that it is necessary to free ourselves from what we have learned since childhood, to begin to really discover "our" world.

It is not about abandoning the family, but about walking a parallel binary, allowing ourselves to really let go, without resistance, but with the desire to discover and fully live all our desires and dreams.

Thanks to this experience, I understood that the world is wider than we imagine. I understood that the reality that I had always known was not the only one, and there was no need to fear. That is why it is essential to discover and know, travel and meet people, places, cultures, we broaden our horizons, we get the opportunity to discover ourselves.
