We are used to thinking that Spirituality is a strange practice unknown to most people and reserved for a few. A few individuals, considered "out of this world", perhaps without a sense of reality due to bizarre ideas. I had never thought of the inner quest as something cheerful. I always had the idea of a long, tiring and complicated journey. After almost three years of practicing meditation on a daily basis, I can confirm that spirituality is achievable. It is not easy to find your balance because it means removing the barriers and letting our true selves out. But moving forwards on this path does not only mean this. It means learning to be better and happier.

To achieve serenity, you need to walk the road with happiness. We cannot reach this goal if we remain serious, we will reach it if we enjoy in the meantime what life offers us. Here, then, Spirituality must include the joy and being happy with that joy that comes from within, from the heart.

peace

In the last few days, I have been experiencing a deep peace. It is as if instead of my heart there was the Universe, the stars. I feel my senses are more awake. I like the taste of food, of any food. And the smells! What food smells like, the air - every season smells different. While I eat, I smell the food, so I capture its essence. I love the evening breeze that blows in my face and I relax before bed, maybe giving me a face massage. Sensitivity is the door that leads us to memories. A dish that grandmother cooked, a childhood perfume or something much older, timeless. Remembering, in turn, is the key to moving forward.

However, we often feel stuck and unsure of what decision to make. We are so undecided that we stand still, letting everything go on without being able to go ahead. This is usually where we become victims. We are used to playing the victim when things are not going well, without wanting to understand why they are going wrong. Most of the time we do not accept that we are the cause of what is not right. We prefer to believe in an adverse fate, that there’s nothing we could have done, rather than trying to make an effort to find happiness later. We want comfort and we want tranquility, without perhaps finding them.

So, as LJ says, “to accept is to always have our Soul in harmony and full of enthusiasm and Love”. Being spiritual is very different from being far from reality. Rather. We need to carry within us the strength of beauty that comes from sensations, because sensations connect us with the Universe, with memories and with true Love, which is love for everything, for the world, the trees, the grass and people.

I thank LJ for giving us the wonder of this connection.
