A letter

I am writing to you because it is with you that I want to talk ... not to tell you that you are wrong, because everyone tells you this but to tell you that only you can choose and decide what you do with your life.

I know what it means.

I know that you tell yourself that you are doing it for your children, for your relatives, for your friends ... that you must endure because it is okay, it is to keep the family together and for that you have to make sacrifices.

I know that when you talk to people about this and comment on another episode of violence on television, you agree that it is a mistake and it should not happen, but your story is different.

You love him, that he loves you and that he does it because deep down you deserve it. I know!! Nobody can tell you to change, you do not accept it because the essential thing is that all this is your choice.

You are comfortable and what is holding you back is fear. Not from the world, not from life, but from the fear of returning to the game, of being accepted, of being a different person ... of not liking it.

Everyone always asks me. But how did you put up with all this for 30 years? I was in love has always been my answer but as I write to you I understand that it was ... just a habit. You can choose and when that day comes in your heart ... you will choose!

And it will be the beginning of a new life. Hard? Of course. Complex? More and more. Will it take time? It will seem infinite, you will want to go back, apologize, be forgiven ..... don't do it !!!

This will be the most difficult time. Do not do this because the day will come when you take the first real step towards freedom and look back and see only a thick fog.

You will remember the good things, your children but everything else will seem cloudy because ... you will have forgotten!
